Viewport clipping not working

Hi, this will be my first post and I would like to say firstly, thanks for the great forum.

 

Now to my problem, I have any image inserted in model space & in paper space I use a viewport to add the image to my drawing, but when I clip an piece of the image off the image still shows as if not cliped althou the vieport border shows it clipped.

are you using viewport clip (VPCLIP)?

if so can you take me through your steps

If you are trying to clip an image, try using IMAGECLIP

Any way, yes I am using vpclip,polygonal, then I draw my new border and close the command.

It works when I clip the image itself by when I clip the vieport it doesent work for some reason.

 

Just as info when I insert the same image into a new drawing then vpclip work as it should.

 

I think it must either be some bad objects on my drawing or some system variable.

i just ried it on my autocad and i worked so heres how i did it...

VCLIP

Select viewport to clip: i select viewport

Select clipping object or [polygonal] i press enter

Specify start point: select start point

Specify next point or [Arc/Close/Length/Undo]: i select next point

Specify next point or [Arc/Close/Length/Undo]: i select next point

Specify next point or [Arc/Close/Length/Undo]: i select next point

Specify next point or [Arc/Close/Length/Undo]: i select next point

Specify next point or [Arc/Close/Length/Undo]: i type C for close

Don't get me wrong here, I have used vpclip many times before without problems, but this only started happening this week with 1 or 2 of my drawing so thats why I think it must be either variable or bad objects on my drawing.

sorry tekenmeester, i wasn't questioning your ability if it seemed that way. :wink: yeah sometimes autocad does stuff like that. i had an instance with jaggy lines-all my lines appeared jaggy and it just turned out to be a "glitch". try saving the drawing as something else, then retry.
