jodyhunt Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Cad2006LT. good knowledge of cad for what i need but nothing fancy. i'm a logistics engineer => design the inside of the warehouse. In other words where do the pallets go and how many can we fit? So my dwgs consist of rectangles.. LOTS and LOTS of rectangles..800k sqft plus of rectangles. Different sizes, different orientations all on different layers. know i can use properties filter to find out # of polylines on a layer but is there someway to create a table that will give me same data automatically? on the drawing or in excel? something like: LayerPolylines1 Deep3,2582 Deep4,9873 Deep35,654 Quote
JoeC Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I often recommend the EATTEXT command. The pallets should probably be blocks instead of just rectangles. All data including layers, locations, etc. is calculated and exportable to excel. You might experiment with it if it is available in LT 2006...I'm not sure if it is Quote
jodyhunt Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 doesn't appear 2006LT supports EATTEXT command. when i type it on the command line i get unknown command.. Quote
JoeC Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 That's too bad, because it is quite useful. Try typing DATAEXTRACTION at the command prompt and see if that works...its the same command as EATTEXT. If it doesn't, maybe search for data extraction in the help file. I'm afraid it may be a limitation of LT. Quote
JoeC Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I did just check a co-workers system running Acad Mechanical 2005, and he does have the EATTEXT command available, so it looks like an LT limitation. Some of the very wise luminous beings in the forum will hopefully give you a better option. Good luck! Quote
