Hi, I'm using ACAD 2007 & 2009 (different locations). My question is this. I have created some dynamic blocks. I want to know is there a way to get the distance (actually preferably line length) between two blocks and automatically have it insertecd in one of the blocks. I.E. block one has a line or maybe spline, running from it to block two. I want the length of the line to be extractable from block two.

Explore MTEXT,

Start MTEXT, Draw the textbox

Locate the INSERT FIELD button on the MTEXT formatting bar.

Field catagory= Object

Fieldnames = Object

Object type (button) pick on your line.

property = length

select units and check additional formatting

your length should appear in your text box.

There may be a way to work this into a block.

Thank you Cadmatic, I will try to examine MTEXT. I'm guessing I probably will need to find a lisp that works with the MTEXT.
