Hi Guys,

I need to create a 3 page PDF document from a 3 page AutoCAD drawing. My AutoCAD file is setup as shown in the first attachment. When I attempt to print to PDF format (using CutePDF Writer) I'm only able to achieve 'PAGE 1' on a 1 page PDF document. Can anyone please give me a couple of pointers regarding this? The second attachment shows the 1 page PDF file.

Regards,

Paul

Have you tried PUBLISHing your dwg file to a DWF file, and then printing a PDF file from the DWF file ?

Posted

No I haven't. I'm quite new to AutoCAD. I'll have a look into that.

Thanks.

It is worth noting that IF you can publish to a multi-page DWF file, you will need Autodesk Design Review, in order to open the DWF file, and thus print it to PDF

I attempted PUBLISHing to DWF format and got the following. It only shows the first page again.....PAGE 1.

Adobe Acrobat *.pdf files can be added and/or deleted from the group.

Does CutePDF allow you to add pages?

CutePDF is just a print device, not an actual editor program. So no.

Try Acroplot Pro, you can download a trial for 30 days. It is a batch conversion program. You can batch convert multiple drawings or multiple sheets from one drawing file into one pdf file. It also converts other file extensions. You can also convert autocad file without having autocad on your computer. It is a very good program.

Doesn't AutoCad 2009 have a Plot to PDF???

I know AutoCad 2008 does. Shouldn't you be able to publish your drawings & then plot to PDF in AC09?

Try PDF Redirect V2

Freeware. Prints multiple pages (even from different files) that publish to to a single PDF document. It even allows you to arrange the PDF files once you have printed them, ie, change order, swap files around, before actually publishing to PDF

AutoCAD 2009 does not print or publish to a multi-page PDF file anymore directly (at least not that I have found)

Guys,

On AutoCAD 2009 I selected File > Publish. I got the following print screen. Does anyone know where I go from here?

you need to select a page setup, I recommend creating a drawing that stores all your setups for easy access, you can then import them. For pdf's I recommend disabling the save as pop up and have them saved automatically in a folder of your choice.

AutoCAD 2009 will plot multi-page pdfs if you use publish and set publishcollate to 1

publishcollate = 1 one large pdf with multiple pages

publishcollate = 0 multiple pdfs with a single pages

when publishing you chose your saveas folder before you begin to publish, click the options button and select the folder i believe its the top spot

'05 and '07 I print to *.pdf each drawing I need.

I then add each drawing to the original, can rearrange pages, change the save to name. Multiple page *.pdf, easy enough.

Add *.pdf's from MS Word, Excel, or whatever is necessary.

Using Adobe Acrobat Pro. Makes live easy.

I've tried this countless times, and sorry but it has never ever worked.
