Hi all, I realize this should be a fairly simple fix, but I can't figure it out.

I have been making drawings mostly from objects I copy/pasted from objects in previous drawings in my company's database. I had to draw some additions and it is these objects which will not print (everythgin copy/pasted plots fine).

When I look at the layers window, nothing is out of the ordinary (all layers thawed, unlocked etc).

However I am a newb to CAD so I am sure there's something I missed. Any idea what it might be? Thanks!

Oh this is AutoCAD MAP 3D 2009 by the way!

when yopu look at the layers in layer manager also check plot option. It may hve been set up to 'noplot' option. in that case u will see printer symbole with cross line in layer manager with the layer in question.

Thank you Dipali but sadly that's not the problem.

One of the plot icons is "faded" but none of them

have a red bar through them (which normally indicates no-plot).

I tried creating a new layer and copy/pasting the same objects as in the zero layer btu that didn't work either.

only defpoint will have faded icon & it is a no plot layer.

making another guess. see if that si the problem.

If the objects are bock, check in which layer they r inserted. u also should go to block edit & check each entity, in which layer they r drawn

What kind of color-tab/plot-style do you have goin' on?

If he copies/pastes objects that plot fine, then I don't see how checking the entities are going to do anything other than see what layers they're on themselves. It obviously plots fine.

It's the creation of new objects on the live drawing that are a problem. No offense Dipali, but ... that's seems like checking to see if the timing belt it off when it's just a matter of an empty tank here.

Nattie; can you do a print-screen of the plot dia-box and post it?

I had a similar problem when inserting someone else's dwg file into mine. They had all of their work on a layer called 1 and set to colour 255,255,255.

After about an hour of looking into it I discovered that the layer that wouldn't print or preview was set as the same colour as the paper or the preview window. I had to then change everything with this colour (255,255,255 in my case) to white to preview it. This worked in my case as a layer which is white will still preview as black in the plot preview window. For some reason the colour 255,255,255 must plot and preview as the same colour as my paper and preview window.

Hopefully this will work for you as well??
