Work Plane Orientation

I need to create a work plane which is perpendicular to a non-planar 3D line or axis.

 

Is there an easy way to do this other than manually inputting the angle and offset?

you can use the line and its endpoint to define a work plane. click your work plane button(or use ] ), select your line endpoint then select your line.
