Plot styles and layout page

I'm not sure if this will make sense but I've got 2 queries.

The first is regarding plot styles. I was emailed someone else's dawing and plot style so that I could print the drawing correctly. The plot style is saved in the correct place. I then copied the drawing into a new template and tried to choose the correct plot style CTB file but I can't find it. When you try to load in a new plot style in page setup it gives you the 3 options start from scratch, use a CFG file or use a PCP/PC2 file. It doesn't give you the option to choose a CTB file so I can't load this plot style.

The second query is how you can change the white layout page from A2 or A3 to A1 in paper space. At the moment I just have my titleblock in the grey area in paper space as I cannot increase it, therefore I can't print layout.

Any advice greatly appreciated!!

If you go to File, Plot Style Manager, does the file show up there? If not you don't have it in the right location. You don't "load" a plot style, in this case you copy it to that location and it will be there for use.

You will have to specify a different paper size for that size sheet, either in plot dialog or page setup manager.

Thank you very much, that has solved my paper size problem!!

I have checked in Plot Style Manager and the CTB file is there but it still isn't in the Plot Style Table when I go to plot.

Maybe the dwg is set up up for style based plotting (.stb). If so, try the command Convertpstyles to convert it to color based plotting (.ctb)

I tried this command and received this warning dialouge box:

'This command converts a Colour Dependent plot style drawing to use Named plot styles.

You should convert your colour dependent plot style tables (.ctb files) to Named plot style tables (.stb file) with CONVERTCTB before you convert your drawing.'

I'm not sure how to convert this file, when I selected it it says 'file.stb does not contain a colour mapping table and cannot be used to covert drawings. Select a different named plot style table'

The file I'm trying to find is an stb and I need to convert it to a ctb

Apparently that isn't you problem... it appears as if your dwg is already set up for Color Dependent plotting

Be sure your .ctb files are located in the folder designated in Options > Files
