I need civil line types

Does any one have a dwg file with civil linetypes in it? Preferably line types with letters in them?

Where are you located?

What you're really asking for is a copy of someone's acad.lin or acadiso.lin file aren't you?

I'm in Michigan, and would be grateful for just a DWG with the basic civil line types in it, so I can just copy them into another drawing. We're architects and very rarely need them, but on occasion we do, like now

So we're talking property line, sanitary sewer, water, storm drain, natural gas, telephone, and electric. Any others?

Your state Department of Transportation / Highways division would be an excellent source for civil line types. When I would both for a municipality and a private consulting engineering firm in Connecticut they both referenced state standards.

The ones you mentioned earlier would be grand, but in a DWG. I would love to get my hands on the line types themselves, so I can use them, rather than a PDF where i can just see them

Man you are one tough dude to please. Unfortunately I don't perform miracles on Thursdays. Sorry. I gave it my best shot. Know anyone at the Michigan D.O.T.?

Did you look in Help > Customization Guide > Custom linetypes?

It's not that hard to make them yourself

The OP should try, as much as possible, to adhere to the linetypes commonly used either in the client's municipality or the state in which he resides. Yes, I know, he's going to include a legend but I don't agree with using linetypes conjured up from thin air let alone linetypes from a different country.

When some offical bureaucrat opens up the drawing and starts to review it I think he/she will be slightly annoyed. Everyone should be more or less on the same page so to speak.

Just my opinion. The OP is free to do whatever he likes. :)

I'm only giving the OP what he requested :)

Thank you for your kind offer HU. I'm sure the OP thanks you too. :)

As previously stated though, the built-in ability of AutoCAD to produce custom linetypes is included in the program. The OP could have created exactly what he needed with a minimum of time and effort.

I may be wrong, but doesn't the default acad.lin already come shipped with a heap of civil linetypes (in the basic AutoCad). I.e --- E ---, --- T ---, --- G ---, --- SW ---, --- OH ---, --- / ---, etc ?

No, it doesn't have any of those linetypes by default.
