Tridraft Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Hello Draftsers, I am trying to complete a project that my client wants on an "A", 8.5x11, landscaped format. When I open my .idw file in AInventor 2010 the "A" format opens with a monstorous sized title block. When I attempt to insert a smaller one it tells me I must first delete the old before making a new. I want to create, or modifiy, an existing block to a much smaller size to allow max drawing space. Help? Thanks. Quote
MarkFlayler Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 What you are describing is standard behavior especially if you have not set up your templates before your project. You need to right click in the Titleblock area of Drawing Resources and Define a new Titleblock in your Template. Then you can use it in any new drawing. If you have already completed some drawings and need to backtrack you can use the Drawing Resource Transfer Manager. When you use a titleblock in a sheet you can only have one at a time so delete it from the sheet before inserting a new one from the Titleblock Resource Folder. Some users set up multiple IDW/DWG templates for different sizes of their work. Typically, A, B, and D; C is actually rarely used in industry and it confuses me as to why they chose that at Autodesk as the default. Quote
Tridraft Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Thanks for the response. I'm setting my blocks up for different companies and they really like it. Quote
