I don't do much with 3d, but won't UNION do what you want?

i tired that but it seems that those are surfaces and i need 3d solids to use UNION, i've been told to use thickness and create solids and then use union, it works but its not what i want, i need to create a full solid not one with thickness!

Thanks Glen Smith

I don't know why you could not use Union. It worked for me.

Hello Kencaz Thanks for the answer

When i use Union I select both surfaces the cylinder and the cone and it says "At least 2 solids or coplanar regions must be selected" So it doesnt work! Or what am i doing wrong?

Thanks

It seems like a version problem. I am able to union the surfaces with 2010, most likely because of the new mesh modeling capabilities.

I did pull, up your file in 2008 and had the same issue your describing.

I was able to use "Thicken" to add .01 to the surface and it automatically created a 3DSOLID that I was able to union.

I have to say that this is probably the easiest way and it is still a true solid.

i dont know that there is a way to sew or stitch these together in pre 2010acad but you can easily draw that as one piece as a surface. If you just draw your 3 circles and loft between them, then subtract your cut outs.
