BWCAD Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I need to center-align a rectangle to a group/block object (also it's midle), how do I do that? Can I create/insert a grip or snap point in the midle of the group/block object? Quote
ReMark Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Try using mtp or m2p at the prompt for locating a point for both grabbing the rectangle and repositioning it. MTP "Locates the midpoint between two points." Quote
Glen Smith Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 A slightly different route to the same place is to hold the shift button and right click when you are asked to pick a point. Selecet Mid Between 2 Points (third one down on my list.) I use it all the time when placing text in boxes. Glen Quote
BWCAD Posted August 27, 2009 Author Posted August 27, 2009 I'm using AutoCAD LT 2010, it doesn't support the "MTP" or the "M2P" command Quote
slimjramirez Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Probably just draw a line from the points you care to put the rect. at the midpoint of, put it there, delete the line. Quote
BWCAD Posted August 27, 2009 Author Posted August 27, 2009 PERFECT......just what I was looking for, THANK YOU Glen Smith :D:D (To get the middle of the first object, I used the command OSNAP and activated Midpoint, it was not activated by default.) Quote
Glen Smith Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 The shift click method will work to grab the object you are picking up as well. This is espescially handy if you want to pick up the object you are moving from the center rather than the midpoint of a side. I used to draw lines from corner to corner, then grab the midpoint of the line, move the object, then delete the line - this saves several steps. Glen Quote
