Proctor Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hello: when i open cad, i would like it to automatically load a template i created. is there a setting that will allow me to do this? thanks, Proctor Quote
ReMark Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 You'll have to add the command line switch /t along with the template file name to the acad.exe command line associated with your Microsoft® Windows® shortcut icon. For further details consult AutoCAD Help. Search for templates, startup routines. This will work for all new drawings you start. Quote

ReMark Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 My tip is probably better for those with multiple projects. Each unique shortcut/template file can be associated with a particular client/project. Your tip probably is the better one to go with in this case. Quote
Proctor Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 Thank you both for sharing your knowledge. chulse, i did what you said and it's loading beautifully now; except, i noticed that the Global Scale factor setting is not retained in the line type manager. If i do file new and load the template, it retrains this setting. do i need to do something else? thanks again for your help! Proctor Quote
