Plotting Monochrome with one Layer in Color?

Recommended Posts

Howdy...

:unsure:I'm trying to plot a 2D Layout in monochrome except for one specific layer, which I want in color so that those objects stand out. Any guidance would be appreciated!:?

Thank you!

An easy way to do this is just to use a B/W plot style table (like you might already be doing...), but then for the one layer that you in color, just use a true color. Truecolor is ignored by plot style tables so it will always plot in color

not sure whether 2008 allows this but in the viewport change all the layers to black, say, except the layer you want in red, say. I have done this to bring steelwork 'out' of a plan drawing but I might have been in 2009..? this does not change the basic properties of the linework in model space...

It's probably easier to only change one layer though. Change the 'steelwork' layer to color 255,0,0. It will plot red and then if you need to change it back, there is only one layer to change. I guess if you use layer states, then it wouldn't really matter though...

:DThank you all for your input! As I was pondering the situation, I did figure out the Monochrome plot style table and changed the one layer to red.

...to be clear - I meant set 'VPcolor' - therefore only in that VP does the particular layer(s) stand out
