Lox Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Hi, I am currently a student and have some part time work altering some drawings. Can anyone tell me how I can change the size of the dimensions text and text in general so it effects the whole drawing? I have changed the Format - Dimension Style and Text Style options but it doesnt effect the whole drawing. Thanks heaps Lox Quote
Marc-S Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 have you tried the dimscale command? Quote
Lox Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 I just typed that in, and changed it to a random number (15) but they didnt change. Quote
CADMASTER1128 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Select the dimensions you wish to edit, then pick the dim-style you wish to use. That should work, also make sure you set your new dim-style as the default or you will have to constantly adjust the style. Quote
Lox Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 Do I pick the dim-style i want from the Format -Dimension Style box? I tried that and changed the text size for the dimension but no change?? Quote
Marc-S Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Do I pick the dim-style i want from the Format -Dimension Style box? I tried that and changed the text size for the dimension but no change?? I opened AutoCAD and ran through it and it seems that i missed a few steps in my first post. try this and let me know. Command: DIMSCALE Enter new value for DIMSCALE : 5 Command: DIM Dim: UPDATE Select objects: ALL 3 found Select objects: Dim: *Cancel* Quote
CADMASTER1128 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Here is what you do, in the dimension toolbar, select the modify dimstyle icon. Edit the style to fit your needs and after editting the style select "set current". Now, go through the drawing select all the dimensions you wish to change. Now, change the style by once again going to the toolbar and select the modified style. Does this make sense or help you at all? If you need screen shots I will be more than happy to post some for you tomorrow. Quote
