daveaka Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Hi there, First post and I'm straight in with a question . In my office we currently use AutoCAD LT 2009 mainly for editing Land Survey information. Due to staff sickness in another department we have been asked to convert 4000 1km2 OS GML tiles to dwg so they can be opened with AutoCAD. I'm having a hard time finding any converter that fits the bill. I did have a look at KeyGML but there is no trail avaliable and I've had no answer to my emails. Basically I would like to convert a couple of OS gml tiles and see how I get on so a trial version would be great. Is there any way around not having to use a converter, I'm open to any other options....Thanks in advance David... Quote
Nellie Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I found this website for you. http://www.bodley.ox.ac.uk/users/nnj/translat.htm Hope its the right one. Quote
daveaka Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 Thanks Nellie, But I can't make either of those programs produce a CAD compatible output file from a GML Quote
eldon Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Apparently you need Map 3D to import OS MasterMap. Perhaps the other department has that available for use. Certainly you cannot do it with 2009LT. Quote
daveaka Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 ^^^Thanks Mate^^^ I've just had a phone call from KeyGML and they were very helpful, it seems a colleague of mine (the guy off on the sick) has a Full copy of KeyGML which I'm able to install on my machine. Only problem it doesn't work with LT I told my boss that we shouldn't be wasting out time with LT but he wouldn't listen. Bloody Local Government Anyone used BricsCAD I've heard it's a very good cheap alternative to AutoCAD ? Quote
eldon Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Can't you sneak in during lunch-hour, and do all the conversion of the files and then tip-toe out again Quote
