wheatman75 Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Hi I'm having real problems finding and subsequently defining a custom hatch pattern to duplicate the Batting linetype. I have found various *.PAT files amongst this forum none of which I can make appear within the hatch dialogue box. I have copied and pasted the text of the files I've found ensuring I follow all of the rules i.e. ensuring there is a clear line underneath the text, yet to no avail. This I have tried in both the acadlt.PAT and acadltiso.PAT files. Additionally, I have also saved the battinginsul.PAT file within the "C:\Program Files\AutoCAD LT 2010\UserDataCache\Support directory in the hope it might appear within the custom pattern file, but still no joy... Am I being thick or missing something completely obvious? Your help would be most appreciated. Quote
ReMark Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 The pattern is listed but you're looking for a "preview" of it or a "sample" is that right? Quote
wheatman75 Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 No, I'm actually looking to create my own pattern or indeed load the relevant code from a PAT file which replicates the linetype batting. There are such PAT files available, but they won't register when I paste them into the acatlt.PAT file. Quote
hugha Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Of the 2 ways to add extra patterns, I prefer keeping them in their own files rather than clogging up acad.pat or acadiso.pat - even so, if you have pasted a pattern's text into both standard pattern files without success then maybe you've pasted to other copies of those files. Search your entire file system for files with the .PAT file extension then check the result against your support file search path. If you succeed then the patterns will be listed among the 'Predefined' type on the hatch dialog. The other method requires your custom pattern to be in a file with the filename matching the pattern name i.e. battinginsul.PAT should contain a pattern named "battinginsul" and that file to be on a directory on the support file search path. Such patterns will be listed as 'Custom' type on the hatch dialog. hth Hugh Adamson Cadro Pty Ltd www.hatchkit.com.au Quote
wheatman75 Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 Thankyou Hugh, That was just the advice I needed, I was not amendeing the correct PAT file nor was I looking in the right directory. Having now reviewed the pattern, can you help with the pattern itself? I would like to amend the appearance slightly (See attached image) from A to B. Any help you can give would be much apreciated.
