drfabinex Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Hello, as you all undoubtedly know Autocad can be joyous, or it can crush your spirit under it's digital foot. Here's my latest crush-a-thon: Everytime I plot to my HP designjet everything works as expected. It's only when I try to publish to PDF that the image comes out wrong. Everything I have drawn in model space is slightly greyed out and everything in paper space is black as it should be. I searched the internet to no avail. My workflow is: make 3d model in model space, use solview to make viewports in paper space, soldraw to make 2d profiles, dimensioning and other annotation in paper space, plot, publish. I have tried publishing with the built-in pdf maker and plotting to pdf with Adobe Acrobat's pdf print capture and both react the same. I use Autocad 2010. Thanks for your help! Quote

skipsophrenic Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Are there any viewport overides? Quote
drfabinex Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 Not sure what you mean by "viewport overides" Quote
skipsophrenic Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 in your layout tab go to your Layer manager, accross the top there are various options, one of them being VP Color, is this set to anything if you're viewing modelspace through a viewport in layout? Quote
drfabinex Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 all my layers are set to different colors and the and they're all greyed out preventing me from changing them Quote
skipsophrenic Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Are the layers locked? or are they part of a set layer state? Quote
drfabinex Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 Figured it out finally! Thanks for all your help skip! In the viewport properties I changed the "shade plot" setting to "wireframe" instead of "as displayed" and that seems to have solved the problem. Quote
skipsophrenic Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Hey no probs m8, but you managed that one youself I never even thought of that option. I'll have to remember it for in future. Thanks for teaching me something Quote
