ReMark Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Hope the OP doesn't have SNAP enabled. Quote
ziemerd Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 Ok...I was able to get it to work but not the way it was explained to me. Now my coworker's settings is exactly the same as the other coworkers that is able to do this and he is not able to get a dashed line with Ortho, Otrack, and Osnap turned on. The way I got it to work was I made the first horizontal line then I dragged the line down vertically but did not click it into place. I then put the cross hairs over tot he circle to get a Center snap but I did not click it into place. I then moved the cross hairs to the left and I got a horizontal dashed line. I then clicked anywhere on the dashed line with the snap mark on the circle and I got my vertical line. I then click on the circle and got my horizontal line. My coworker however cannot get the horizontal dashed line. Quote
ziemerd Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 Let me explain...not the way my coworker explained it to me. It worked the way GE13579 explained it. Thank you for the help. Now if I can get it to work on my coworker's computer we'll be right as rain. Quote

GE13579 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Yeah I haven't heard of the QUA command before I'll have to give it a try. Glad you got it sorted ziemerd! Quote
lpseifert Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Qua is an osnap, not a command... short for quadrant. Quote
GE13579 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Aha!!! I didn't know the snap overrides could be entered into the command line... should be useful thanks lpseifert! Quote
lpseifert Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 IMO... a shortcoming of most new (and experienced) users of Acad is they don't learn the command names, they just pick icons. Using the keyboard is much faster and efficient; the acad.pgp is a powerful tool. I may be dating myself but I started on DOS versions and there were no icons; you either used the keyboard or you picked the command from a menu, which was real slow... Quote
GE13579 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I do (mostly) use command line entry just not for snap overrides, like I say I've learnt something new thank you! Quote
