enemigoman Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Hello all: I am having a similar problema than Kari's except that in my drawing there are no Filters defined (it only says "All used layers" and that's it). I am using AutoCAD 2010. The problem is that I can't select the viewport with the mouse cursor. I have to say though, that I can select them with QSelect. Also different is the fact that I can see the border of the viewport, which is in the Defpoints layer, which is not frozen or turned off. In fact, none of the layers are frozen or turned off. It's only that I can't select it with the cursor. I can selct everything else in paper and model spaces If you have further info on this issue, I will greatly appreciate it. Regards, Quote
Tiger Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I have moved your post into it's own thread, in the future, for a new question always start a new thread. That said, is the problem in every drawing? I have encountred this problem once in a while and never found the source, we have simply deleted those drawings and done new ones. Does it do the same if you have viewports on some other layer than Defpoints? Quote
Dipali Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 if the layer '0' is locked or turned off you can not select object on defpoint layer. Quote
BrentV Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I was having this issue for a bit, but now it seems to be fixed. Here is what I did. Type PICKFIRST in the command line then enter a 1 even if it already says 1. I was able to select my unselectable layers again. Hopefully this helps you out. Quote
SkyRoz Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) Tiger is it the policy of this forum that we can not ask a new question in an ongoing discussion??? I am bit surprised that you have transferred a post to another thread. Edited December 18, 2013 by Cad64 Removed advertising link Quote
RobDraw Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 This is a good one. Another thread resurrected, twice, and it's not PotGuy. Quote
PotGuy Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) You called Rob? On a more serious note, always check your layers if you try pick something and it doesn't respond to it. If you hover your mouse over the thing you're trying to pick, it may come up with a lock symbol next to it. This indicates that the object's layer is locked and cannot be edited; to change this, open your layer manager. ('layer') Next, look along the tabs running at the top of the page. Click on the 'lock' tab. This will bring up any layers currently locked. Click on the lock symbol to unlock the layer. You should now be able to edit the layer in the drawing, such as viewports. While the OP's issue was solved and had already gone through this process, those who do think of rez'ing this Thread again might want to check this info. beforehand. And if still think of rez'ing this Thread, just set up a new Thread as this was over 4 years old! Edited October 24, 2013 by PotGuy Addendum Quote
Cad64 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Tiger is it the policy of this forum that we can not ask a new question in an ongoing discussion???I am bit surprised that you have transferred a post to another thread... If you have a question that is relevant to a current ongoing discussion, you can post it, but don't post your question/reply in an old thread that is already dead and gone. Check the dates of the last few posts before replying in the thread. Hint: this thread is 4 years old. And don't post a completely irrelevant question in someone else's thread. For instance, if the thread topic is viewports, don't post a question about dynamic blocks. Start your own thread. This helps keep the original thread on topic so the OP can get the help they are after and it helps you to get your question answered faster. Posting a question in someone else's thread just causes confusion and makes life difficult for everyone. As for moderators moving posts to their own thread, that is what we do in order to keep threads on topic so that everyone can get their questions answered as quickly and efficiently as possible.
