dlxowhd Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 ok, so when you draw something on autocad, you can make make it lighter (when you print) by changing the color to gray.. right? but when you have a jpg (picture) file on your autocad, how can you make it lighter? it's supposed to be background thing and right now it stands out too much... do i have to use something like photoshop or can i do it somehow in autocad? Philip Buckley Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Have you tried Modify/Object/Image/Adjust or the command _imageadjust for a quick fix? Quote
dlxowhd Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 nope, it doesn't let me choose the picture. by the way, what's the proper way of putting a jpg (or other picture formats) on autocad model space? i just drag and drop the jpg to microsoft word, then copy it then paste it in autocad... but the image looks crappy and often the image is strached like crazy. so i tried this instead.. insert -> OLE object -> from file -> then choose the jpg.. but then it doesn't show the actual picture.. it just says the file name (ex. room.jpg) inside a rectangle frame.. what am i doing wrong? Teeds Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Can you set the selected color up as a screened pen? That is how I handle background lines. I use the standard Publish to Web JPG.pc3 plotter in paper space and select a pen table that includes screen pens. I then plot like normal. I just checked and it works. Quote
Teeds Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I just saw your other question ... I use Insert Raster Image Reference and pick the image I'm still on 2007 regardless of what my profile says ... 2009 is too slow on this machine although I have it loaded. I just inserted a Google image yesterday, traced it and blew it up to full size based upon the scale bar in the image. Of course it is not extremely accurate, but it is good enough for eye wash. Philip Buckley Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Have you tried _imageattach? You also may need to use _imageframe and change the setting to 1 or 0 to get the frame so you can select it. Quote
dlxowhd Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 ok i will try that but i just ran into another problem... i want to delete a layer but it says it cannot be deleted because it's layer 0 or there are objects that are on this layer.. but it's not layer 0 and i'm sure no objects are on this layer.. i even did the layer isolate to isolate the object but nothing's on it... is this a glitch or what am i doing wrong? Quote
Philip Buckley Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 That can be tricky. you probably have something on that layer that is hidden within a block. May also need to zoom extents or look in paper space. If it is somewhere in a block you won't see it with layer isolate. Quote
dlxowhd Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 hidden in a block? wow that's tricky.. i couldn't even think about that one.. i guess i will explode every single block and hopefully it will work. Quote
Cad64 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 i want to delete a layer but it says it cannot be deleted because it's layer 0 or there are objects that are on this layer.. but it's not layer 0 and i'm sure no objects are on this layer.. i even did the layer isolate to isolate the object but nothing's on it... is this a glitch or what am i doing wrong? Make sure the layer you are trying to delete is not the current layer. Also, rather than trying to delete the layer, run PURGE a few times. That might solve the problem. Quote
Cad64 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 hidden in a block? wow that's tricky.. i couldn't even think about that one.. i guess i will explode every single block and hopefully it will work. Don't explode all of your blocks. That is not the correct way to solve a CAD problem. Do a little detective work before you start destroying your drawing. Quote
KiLLiNG-TiME Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Indeed do not explode ...unless you make a copy first then explode! (but its no way to work really )after you have found your answers go back to orignal drawing. Or just use quick select/filter to find what you are looking for. Quote
