lonie Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I need to sweep a block along a polyline using two fixed points. This is for clearance checking. How do I do it, lisp? Sweep.dwg Quote
ReMark Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Did you intend for the polyline to have a "thickness" (1.6496)? Did you also intend for the circles to have a height (1.6496)? Quote
lonie Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 No thickness is not important on ether circles or polylines, I do need to see a shadow of the block swept around if it can be done. Quote
ReMark Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 If the circles are centered either side of the polyline how can they also "pivot"? Quote

lonie Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 The polyline would be a conveyor, the block would be supported by two poles (circles) running on the conveyor. Quote
ReMark Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 That exactly what if after, how? I rotated/oriented the block the way you wanted it to "hang" off the conveyor and then used then SWEEP command. That's all. You could also do it in a similar fashion by moving the block to the polyline (after reorienting it) and using the EXTRUDE command. Quote
lonie Posted October 6, 2009 Author Posted October 6, 2009 This is what I wanted to do, but had to do it manually. Tried to sweep it around but it flipped the rectangle. I use it to check clashes. The issue is very similar to this link. http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=17410&highlight=fixed+path Sweep.dwg Quote
