gfraser Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I have recieved drawings that were created in Power Cad. Some of the drawings opened without any problems, however a few will not open despite getting them re-sent numerous times. I don't really know anything about powercad, does anyone have any suggestions? I already have the drawings in pdf format but am keen to open the dwg/dxf files with autocad for easier viewing. Cheers for any assistance. Quote
ReMark Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 PowerCADD 8 is a computer-aided design and drafting program developed for use on the Apple Macintosh platform. It supports DWG/DWF translation. There is an Architosh forum for PowerCADD users here: http://www.architosh.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=8 gfraser: How did you obtain the drawings? Can you ask the source to provide the drawings in DWG or DXF format? Quote
gfraser Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 The drawings were sent by an architect and have been sent in dwg and dxf format - some of which had no errors at all but a few just wont open despite the drawings being recreated and re-issued to try and solve the problem. Quote
f700es Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 There is also a forum at DesignCommunity - http://www.designcommunity.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=3 I have a demo copy running on my OSX box at home but if they sent you the dwg and dxf files you should be OK. Now I do know that Macs will sometimes sent 2 files to PCs a resouce file and the actual file. I noticed this when I worked along a Mac user several years ago. Maybe these files that won't open are these files? Can you ask the sender how many fiels you should have gotten? Good luck Sean Quote
Tankman Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 I had similar problems on occasion when receiving files that were saved to *.dwg AutoCad format, generated by the client using CadKey. The problem originated on his end. Finally, he did it right. Just about the time I gave up this client. Most of my clients want drawings generated using AutoDesk's programs. Quote
