andy d Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 hi to all, looking for some help .i've been trying to get hold of a trial copy of inventor professional 2010 without much luck based in ireland,i contacted local reseller but while keen to discuss the merits of inventor he wasn't any help when it came to a trial disc.a 30 day trial will suffice ,i just want to compare to solidworks before i purchase.i'm currently running a trial of solidworks 2009 and its good but i will be importing dwg files so i'd expect that inventor would be more accurate? can't seem to find a download anywhere , not looking for an iffy torrent .can anyone suggest a link i can use from ireland or if someone has a trial disc they would be willing to post ,i could cover postage? thanks in advance for any help. Cad64 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Have you tried the Autodesk website: http://usa.autodesk.com/products/free-product-trials Quote
Noahma Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 if you look on the Autodesk website for Inventor 2010, there should be a download available for the 30 day trial Here is a link to request the demo, or download the demo. Quote
andy d Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 thanks for the speedy responses guys .i have tried various links including the one posted above but in all cases a trial version of inventor is only offered as a dvd disc by mail and only to residents of us and canada.i'm resident in ireland and don't have access to a us or canada postal address so you see my pridicament? ReMark Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 andy: This is a prime example of where posting the same question in more than one location becomes a real PITA. You hears me bro? I posted a response in the thread you first inquired in. I am not going to repost it here. Please return to that location and read my response. That's assuming you remember where you posted in the first place. Please bear this in mind when you have a question in the future. Thank you. Quote
andy d Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 posted in both intentionally , not everyone reads every forum thanks Quote
JD Mather Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 You might be a bit out of range for this http://labs.blogs.com/its_alive_in_the_lab/2009/10/project-twitch-expanded-range-limits-relaxed.html are you a student or do you have a child in school? All students can download Autodesk Inventor Professional for free 13-month license from http://engineersrule.org I'm surprised your VAR wouldn't send you a disk - must have gotten the impression that you had no intention of purchasing. andy d Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 thanks Jd , solidworks rep had no issue with a trial disc , inventor rep was helpful just not so that he would let me trial it.a bit odd considering it seems easy enough to get hold of one in the u.s. .i'll try your suggestion as i have a teacher friend who might be able to help.not the end of the world if i dont get a look at it as final say is with my boss anyway.
