TateCE Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 I have imported linetypes from a drawing using designcenter into one of my drawings. Is there any way that I can save these linetypes in the .lin files (using LT2004)?? I know how to create new linetypes in the .lin files but it would be good if i can save these into them, they are simple ----X-HV---- style linetypes. I assume this is pretty simple but you dont know til someone shows you!! Thanks Quote

Thanks Sure, go to http://www.turvill.com/t2/free_stuff/index.htm - there are a couple of lisp files there that will do what you want. Quote
fuccaro Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Maybe, but for use those Lisp routines in AutoCAD LT you will also need some add-ons. Search in this frum for tips. Quote

Glen1980 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 This is an old thread but I have the same problem, I have found a non-standard linetype which definitely isn't in my .lin files and although I can use design centre it would be far more convenient to have it stored in my .lin and I haven't really got the time to experiment making it (never tried before but copied Rebels instructions from another thread.) The guy who created the drawing or imported the line originally is on long term sick leave so I can't ask him for it. Quote
Glen1980 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Thanks, but I'm on LT so can't LISP. Although, unusually, the net nanny program let me look at the link Quote

Glen1980 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 No-one in the office has full AutoCAD, we had a license but I think it was discontinued when our CGI guy got made redundant. I doubt it would run anyway, I have 3yr old dell workstation that barely runs lt2010 and can't run lt2011. Quote
rkmcswain Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Thanks, but I'm on LT so can't LISP. Although, unusually, the net nanny program let me look at the link Open the drawing, erase everything, saveAs another temp drawing. ZIP and post this empty copy of the drawing here. Either I or someone else will be able to create the LIN code using the lisp above. Quote
Glen1980 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Thanks for the offer, it is quite a simple linetype but I don't have it. Now it is lunch I am going to try to code it myself and if I fail I'll upload the line as above and will immediately start nagging the IT dept. and my manager for a copy of full AutoCDAD! I was just hoping it would be a simple workaround or a hidden command. Quote
ReMark Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 "I was just hoping it would be a simple workaround or a hidden command." You're looking for the Department of CAD Magic. It's located just down the hall, second door on the left. Walk right in...they're expecting you. Tell them Merlin sent you. Quote
Glen1980 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 LOL. Most of the solutions I have found here seem to be witchcraft!! Quote
Glen1980 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) Woo Hoo!! Just collared the IT guy and it appears we have had a license of full AutoCAD sitting unused for two bl**dy years and he says I can have it! Now to find out if it'll work on my dinosaur computer. I managed to recreate that linetype closely enough on my own. It did take a while fiddling with the sizes but got there in the end. Edited February 17, 2011 by Glen1980 Quote
