I am using Autodesk Land Desktop 2004. The only hatch I have problems with is Gravel. Half the time I try to use this Hatch it becomes scrambled.

Pick a new origin point. Once you've fixed one, you can match properties to fix the rest.

My Hatch Dialog box doesn't look like that. I don't know how to redefine the origin of the hatch.

Hmm, it's been a while since I've dealt with 04, can you post screen shot of your hatch? You can also set it by hporiginmode.

I think that you will find that the system variable HPORIGIN came in with AutoCAD 2006.

So you will have to do it the old fashioned way, and create a UCS near the area to be hatched.

I seem to remember several posts that complained that the GRAVEL hatch scrambled itself, and it turned out that the coordinates were a long way from the origin

Oh ok, thank for taking over Eldon. I never even encountered this until v06.

I believe the "SNAPBASE" command will allow you to set your hatch origin point for this version.

Pick a point near the object you are trying to hatch. Then "HATCHEDIT" your hatch. Preview it and it should appear the way you want.
