mikyrom Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Saving a drawing it creates a backup file with BAK extension. Can somebody tell me how to open the BAK file? Quote
mikyrom Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 It doesn't work changing the extension. Somebody know another way? Quote
Cad64 Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Of course it does. If you're file is named Drawing.bak, rename it to Drawing.dwg and you will be able to open it, unless the file is corrupted. Quote

nocturne00 Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Additionally for others who run into this type of situation reading this, before changing an extension, under any open Windows explorer window>TOOLS>FOLDER OPTIONS>VIEW tab> uncheck "Hide extentions for known file types". it goes for recovering from the .$vs file as well..
