Hogfan Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 :cry:I am trying to plot a sheet set to dwf, but the 4th -7th sheets show locked and when i try to plot to publish or dwf, they hang up on the 4th sheet!! i have looked at the drawing and i dont know what i am doing wrong, i have done this a 100 times and never a problem. i create the sheet set, save it to that job folder as a sheet set. then when i try to do anything else it locks up. any suggestions. I am supposed to have this job done, now i am stuck trying to publish. Thanks in advance. Quote
chelsea1307 Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 the locks mean that the dwg is open on someones computer, that could be why its having an issue Quote
Hogfan Posted October 19, 2009 Author Posted October 19, 2009 There is nobody but me on the pc's, and the other operator is gone for the day. That's what i dont understand, i closed the drawing 3 times, comepletly deleted the sheet set and went back to create new and they are there, they just wont print or publish to dwf. sheet #4 locks up the computer and it shows that all the sheets in that drawing are locked. Im lost!! Quote
chelsea1307 Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 not a solution to your problem but maybe a fix to get it done, have you tried using the publish command instead of sheet set manager? Quote
Hogfan Posted October 20, 2009 Author Posted October 20, 2009 I tried the publish command and still lock up on certain layout. I don't understand what would make it freeze up on this,I am going to delete the layout tabs and re-enter some new ones. I will post back results in 20 minutes. Quote
Hogfan Posted October 20, 2009 Author Posted October 20, 2009 OK! I can't print more than one sheet, without having to shut down AC08 and reopen. I went in to print the layouts manually and printed 1st sheet. after it printed went to print 2nd sheet and the plotter icon was still working down in bottom of screen, showing that it was still printing that one sheet that was done. Any Suggestions?? I am totally LOST ON THIS, could there be something missing as far as files in AC go or something like that. Quote
Cadologist Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Go into the directory that your drawings are stored in (folder) and delete the .dwl files for the drawings that are not working. Sometimes after you 'crash AutoCAD' the dwl (drawing lock file) stays in the folder, so it would assume it's 'in use'.... Worth a shot anyway, let me know if that works for you. On a side note, I have never gotten that publish from sheet sets to work properly, always causes issues but who knows, I got frustrated and gave up on it months ago, probably should figure it out someday. chelsea1307 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Are there any other computer print these files? can you print any other files to the same printer? Quote
Hogfan Posted October 20, 2009 Author Posted October 20, 2009 I finally got it fixed!! Tools,Options, plot and publish tab- I had both boxes checked in the Enable background processing window. I was told by Microvellum that this does not work correctly and has locking issues with other commands as it tries to process. So i unchecked the 2 boxes and all is working fine now. It starts out processing then by 3-4th page it locked up. Quote
Hogfan Posted October 20, 2009 Author Posted October 20, 2009 Are there any other computer print these files? can you print any other files to the same printer? I actually could print from the other pc in the office and i have also posted the fix to my problem. Maybe it will help others later on. Thanks so much for all your help. Quote
chelsea1307 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Glad you got it fixed, i know to keep the publish in background box unchecked in the publish dialog box but didnt know there was a setting in options that controlled this also. Plotting in background rarely ever works. Quote
