Hi All,

new to the forum, so apologies if I'm in the wrong area.

In past versions of CAD, I don't remember being able to select an object and then click and drag it. Is there a way to turn this feature off? I can turn off the noun/verb selection under options, but that turns off all pre-selection. I just want to turn off the drag feature...

any thoughts?

many thanks,

luke

Hi Luke,

Try using the dragmode command.

Why does dragmode shut off by itself sometimes, and what causes it to do so?

This is very annoying when you depend on it to visualize a move especially in 3d when using the dview command. You can't use this command very well with dragmode shut off.

Is there a way to keep it on permanently?

Thanks

Dragmode

Auto - Turns on dragging for every command that supports it.

Thanks for the response!!

I have Dragmode set to Auto, but it shuts off for some reason at various times, and i can't find a pattern that causes it to shut off.

When I type Dragmode and set it back to Auto again, it is defaulted to Off.

Do you know of any situation or function while drawing in 3d that would shut it off?

Thanks again for any insights you may have or opinions.

Actually, why does this command even exist?? You can't track any objects with it off while using the modify commands. Just curious why anyone would not want it on.

Man, I would cry if they took Dragmode away. I use it to make quick anonymous blocks (which I explode later) all the time.
