3d planview elevation issues

In the attached drawing there is a little sketch of a 3 tank hot water storage system (minus several components so i could make the 250 kb restriction).

 

In the drawing, when i switch to planview, all of the pipes above a certain elevation do not show up.

 

I assume there's some setting on my pipe material that's keeping them from showing up in planview when above something or another, but i can't figure out what it is, or where that setting is.

 

Thanks for any ideas, I'm sure this is some really simple thing that i'm not seeing.
