jonnyt8010 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Hi Everyone, I was on a few weeks ago trying to learn how to create attributes/blocks and extract the data... With this I have been most successful (cheers Glenn Smith) Now I'm trying to get fancy, At the minute I have one big drawing with all the blocks I have created. When making drawings I don't want to be forever copying and pasting from one sheet to another... Is it possible for me to add a 'command' or 'drop down menu' to the menu bar which has all the blocks I've created in a list form?? Ideally I would love to be able to divide my blocks into sections and sub-sections so its not a list as long as your arm! And also, when creating a block and naming it, there's a list of all blocks I've created, is there a way to edit this list??? I want to delete some earlier versions of blocks from it. As this is the list I want on my menu bar. Any help would be very much appreciated!! Quote
Cadologist Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Have you checked out Tool Palettes at all? If not, check that out, as it seems that's exactly what you are looking for, aside from it not being directly as a pulldown, it's the most common way to create a collection of commonly used blocks for easy insertion. You can also easily create other tabs for various block (similar) within the tool palette. Run the 'purge' command on the drawing in question as it will remove any unused blocks (be sure to note that the blocks that you want to keep must be inserted into the drawing (in model space or paper space) and not just in the insert--block list as they will be removed also. After the purge command, you will only have, in the drawing, what is current with no unused entities. It's also a good idea to create a backup of your main drawing (just in case) if it's the only place you have the collection of everything prior to doing anything evasive. Quote
