jojoma Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 While using enhanced attribute extraction (EATTEXT) to create a pump schedule, there is a category called "Quantity" that tells you how many of a given item you have. By default it seems to count the number of items with a given attribute (for instance if you have an attribute named "TAG", it will count the number of items with the same value for TAG). I would like it not to count the number of items with the same TAG, but rather the number of items of a given visibility. Example: I have three types of pump: centrifugal, gear, and diaphragm. These are each different visibility states of a dynamic block. Each pump has an attribute called "TAG", where a pump will given a name such as P-1. I would like "Quantity" to count up the number of pumps with visibility "centrifugal", "gear" and "diaphragm". Like, I have 5 centrifugals, 3 gears, etc. Right now it tells me I have one pump named "P-1", one named "P-2", etc. Any suggestions on how to display the right quantity? Quote
jojoma Posted July 21, 2008 Author Posted July 21, 2008 I'll answer my own question on this one, since I can't find how to take down a thread. The quantities are apparently calculated by counting the number of blocks with identical attributes. By deselecting a given block property (such as TAG) when choosing the properties to be displayed, "quantity" will count the blocks with the remaining attributes being identical. Given my example in the previous message, this means by not displaying "TAG", then centrifugal, gear, and diaphragm are each grouped and counted together. Quote
Danse_Macabre Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I know this thread hasn't been active for a while, but thank you for answering your own question! Really helped me out today. Quote
