ReMark Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 What file formats does Z+F laser scanning support? Quote
bpology Posted October 25, 2009 Author Posted October 25, 2009 dont know Its my 1st project with Z&F format. They will send me Z&F file later this week Quote
ReMark Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Rather than wait until then why not pick up the phone now and give your client a call. Ask him what file formats his software can either save to or export. This way you can at least get a start on figuring out the best way to give him what he ultimately wants. Quote
bpology Posted October 25, 2009 Author Posted October 25, 2009 He is a very new client to me & I think if I ask him these questions then he will run off , thinking as we dont have experiance with this kind of project. I dont wont loose any client. so I think its better to wait for files . can you send me your mail id ? my is vivek at logon2cad dot com Thank you for your time to reply my questions Have a nice time & please provide me yor mail id. ReMark Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Your new client is probably going to know pretty quickly what kind of experience you have when in pretty short order he doesn't get what he is expecting. Why do you need my email address? I'm not sure I can even help you. I'm asking questions here to fill in some blanks and in hope someone else may jump in who has this kind of experience. The more information someone can provide the better we may be able to assist them. Think of me as a facilitator. Quote
kencaz Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Looks like you'll probably want the SAT format for AutoCad. http://www.zf-laser.com/e_index.html KC Quote
ReMark Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 kencaz brings up a good point re: sat file format. According to the AutoCAD 2007 Help file: "You can import geometry objects stored in SAT (ASCII) files using the ACISIN command. ACISIN converts the model to a body object or to 3D solids and regions if the body is a true solid or a true region." So it sounds like you DO need to call your client and tell him the exact file format you need in order for you to do your job. Quote
