CADTutor Posted July 22, 2008 Share Posted July 22, 2008 Although this is technically possible with AutoCAD - use the Helix command to create a series of paths and then extrude circles - it's not a tool I would use for this. 3ds Max may be a better option. beauXjames Posted July 25, 2008 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Interesting problem...as maybe the previous suggestions could get the rope to 'look' appropriate, if you're doing something for a technical project and are hoping to fully simulate this entity, i would suggest using some forumlas to drive it...what kind of thesis are you working on and what in the world does it have to do with a wire rope?
