Spiderguy Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Hello all! I have just recently started using Design Review & Markup Set Manager. My question is or problem is; We xref our details and sections into a carrier sheet (Sheet Set Manager will soon be implemented - so views will be used). The carrier sheet then gets plotted to a DWF, then marked up. So far so good. Now once the DWF is marked up it gets referenced into the carrier sheet through Markup Set Manager. Everything is fine up until this point. I can see the markups can do everything that you are supposed to do, however, because our details are inserted into the carrier sheet as a xref there is no appearant way of reading the mark-ups in the actual detail.dwg file. Is there a way of allowing the markups to show up in the detail file so that I won't have to keep switching back and forth between to 2? Thanks, Matt:huh: Quote
ScribbleJ Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Markup manager is based on whatever space you use when you create the DWF's (i.e. model space or paper space). If you were to create the DWF's from the xref in model space of the detail.dwg you would be able to do this. Quote
Spiderguy Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 hum, I will try this out. Thanks, Matt Quote
Spiderguy Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 OK, no go. Evidently in order to get the markups to show up in the detail.dwg file - you have to create the dwf file from it - not the carrier sheet. FYI - We use a CarrierSheet.dwg that holds all the individual detail.dwg files in it as xrefs - If I wasn't clear enough before. Thanks, Matt Quote
ScribbleJ Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Always happy to help out. If I wasn't clear enough what you said is what I was trying to convey. It must be done in the xref your working from. At any rate you got it working and all in the world is good for now. Quote
Spiderguy Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 You are right, each individual detail.dwg has to have it's own dwf file, engineers wont go for that - Can't say why, just wont. Anyway, would be nice to at least see the markups in the detail.dwg file without having to flip back and forth between the 2 drawings! I didn't get it to work, just learning more about what can't be done with it - as of right now! Thanks, Matt Quote
ScribbleJ Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Freaking engineers! Always non-flexible. Lets do it the hardest most complicated way we can think of possible. Can you possibly do it in model space of the xref that has all the details attached to it? Is that the carrier sheet? Quote
