cwcox Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I"m a drafting teacher. One of my students computers will allow him to snap to lines of the model while in paper space (autocad 2006). None of the other computers will allow this to happen. It is really handy, I've looked on the drafting settings but can't seem to find what is set up differently. Any suggestions? Thanks, Woody in N.C. Quote
SPARKY77 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 As far as I am aware as long as you have object snap on and a command on e.g (line, circle dimension) the snap should work Quote
Cadologist Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I have never heard of this before, cause by default, it's set (in every CAD version I can think of) to allow you to snap to any linework on the screen, be it in modelspace or paperspace. I did a quick search through AutoCAD system variable commands and didn't see anything pertaining to some variable that controls paperspace to modelspace snaps. Quote
GE13579 Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 But you won't be able to snap to, say, an intersection between an MS line and a PS line. Have you tried it with the same drawing on different machines? Quote
Coosbaylumber Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 But you won't be able to snap to, say, an intersection between an MS line and a PS line. Have you tried it with the same drawing on different machines? Back when, I did this on a computer running Acad 2002 or 2004 I think. It would Snap-to, but only to endpoints and to center of circles. Not everything on the drawing. Had to place a lot of text in P-S so it came to advantage there, but not elsewhere. Nothing else. I needed intersections, and that was not within the cards. I do not remember altering a thing 'cept it worked on the computer I was at. Wm. Quote
