dbroada Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 We use DXF files during one of our processes which works well. We also have a change of corporate logo embeded in our drawing blank which has recently beed revised. This logo is in the drawing blank as a metafile. I didn't add it but I suspect it was "cut & pasted" from another document. The problem we now have is that the logo doesn't complete the round trip. If you save the drawing as a DXF file and then open that DXF file the logo has disappeared. If you now redefine the block by inserting a blank with the logo, it returns! Any ideas? Quote
Guest Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 What version of DXF do you save in? I have noticed that if I save a DXF file in R12 DXF, all of the font types and styles that I set are changed as well. If I save the file as a 2000 + the fonts stay the same. Maybe this helps? Quote
dbroada Posted November 16, 2009 Author Posted November 16, 2009 thanks but I tried all levels available to me (R12, 2000, 2004 & 2008 ) and all exhibited the same problem. Quote
Guest Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Sorry, that was my only suggestion. I am sure that somone else may have another idea. Quote
dbroada Posted November 16, 2009 Author Posted November 16, 2009 its still one more suggestion than everybody else Quote
Guest Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I just posted this thread today, now that I think about it, you may be able to use this as a solution. This is assuming that you have a vector file of the logo you are using that is avalible, instead of a raster image. http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=42145 Quote
dbroada Posted November 19, 2009 Author Posted November 19, 2009 hmmm, looks complicated. we were told the logo is all "standard" type faces so one of my co workers has spent much of the day recreating the logo. Just when she thought she had finished we realised that the "t" in the company logo was a different shape! we are waiting on our parent company to supply a dwg or dxf file but if that isn't forthcoming I'll try to get a vector plot and see what I can do with that. (raster only atm) Quote
