dreamer Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Hi Why Tabsurf can not give me a curved tube but the result on the right image? I remember I sucessfully did it before, but today it does not work. What have I done wrong? Thanks in advance. Quote
ReMark Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 In Tabsurf... "Only the first and last points on a polyline are considered, and intermediate vertices are ignored." The above comes courtesy of your Help file (see Tabsurf command). That's why you got the result you did. Quote
ReMark Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Did you know that... "You can create surfaces from 3D solids with curved faces, such as a cylinder, with the EXPLODE command." Source: AutoCAD Help file. Command: CONVTOSURFACE. I would suggest the following. Sweep or Extrude a circle along the arc. This creates a Solid. Explode the solid. Erase the "disc" at both ends of the tube. Peek inside using 3DO. Looks like a surface to me. Quote
shift1313 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Do you need a surface? The object will be much better using the SWEEP operation. It will result in a solid object since your circle is a closed profile. Just as ReMark said, if you need a surface you can then explode the solid. This will leave you with the two end caps and the tube. i suggest you select the "tube" and move it, this will allow you to see the endcaps to delete them. Quote
