rocneasta
this topic title spells trouble and complexity by itself, and fearing the worst i'll ask away... is it possible to after making a highly complex model - using standard modeling tools in acad (extrude, revolve, sweep, loft - with various settings) and arranged in gzillion layers for each part import it into 3ds max lower the count of tris do a proper UVW unwrapping texture it accordingly these are my questions, basically how, why, because, when apply to each of those. Modeling from scratch in max isn't that big of a problem, but i would just like to know, since i'm still faster with acad modeling than with max modeling - so any help in this direction would help me maintain that speed without jeopardizing the end result many thanks
Cad64
import it into 3ds max - Yes lower the count of tris - This is always an issue with CAD models. You generally need to do a lot of clean-up in order to optimize the mesh. do a proper UVW unwrapping - Yes texture it accordingly - Yes Do you have specific quesitons about any of these topics?
