kari_sinkko Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Hi, We've been using Autocad since, I think forever and we've discovered the joys and sorrows of ACA 2010. Since I work in a place that uses a panel system, i.e. a window and door and a wall is one panel, we are and have been using a series of blocks to represent walls, door and windows. We still manually place wall panels, doors & windows and since this is one of the most time consuming things to do I was wondering if there was a way to automate this process. The whole thing I know is a big project. I think the easiest way to start is with windows and doors. Is there a way to display door and window information, like our doors are labelled 770, 820, for an 770 & 820mm door respectively. Windows are W1, W2... Any ideas? Kari Quote
kari_sinkko Posted September 16, 2010 Author Posted September 16, 2010 Looks like there's salvation moving to Revit after all.. Quote
Noahma Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Hmm... I know you can have property sets automatically attached to doors and windows, but you would still have to tag them. Although a couple releases ago they initiated a way to tag multiple items at once, you need to attach the first tag, then type M for multiple, then just window the entire drawing. You could always do your large project using the project navigator and doing a series of elements for each "panel" you have. I am afraid Revit is not going to be much easier. A series of groups would be needed there to get the "panels" you require. Quote
