Void Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I'm hoping someone can help me with this. The picture shows 2 cubes... the cube on the left has a random texture applied to it, and the cube on the right is the same as the one on the left, except it is rotated at 45 degrees. As you can see, when the cube is rotated the texture becomes distorted. It looks awful. Can anyone please explain how this can be avoided? Quote
Void Posted November 27, 2009 Author Posted November 27, 2009 Seriously, no suggestions? I know this is probably a ridiculously easy solution for some of the intermediate/advanced users. I can't be the only person who has had this problem. Quote
lrm Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Mapping material in AutoCAD has become much more difficult in recent versions. I'm not usre there is an easy solution to your problem. You can try experimenting with the Box mapping gizmo and you may be able to get two sides of the object looking correct. Try the following. Use a simple checker pattern (it is easier to see the results of the changes you made). You can change the material to something else once you have the gizmo set. In the material editor go to the Material Scaling & Tiling pane and set Scale Units to Fit to Gizmo, the U and V values to 1.0. Change the visual style to realistic. Enter the command materialmap the give the B option (for box). You will see the material mapping gizmo. Use the push-pull grips to change the size of the tiling. Frustrating isn't it! This is an area that AutoCAD needs to improve. It is much easier in earlier versions and in 3ds Max. Good luck. ~ Lee Quote
HaxLi Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Got the same problem when tried to apply door texture and then ROtate them. I used the solution for this: Created door solid and put it in Block and applied texture inside it, then ROtate in model space work fine. But when I tried to apply Rotate parameter for that block, it distorted texture after rotate with that parameter thing. EDIT: just now thought of solution for using block parameter That textured door block I put inside another block and added rotate parameter there, and it worked out Quote
