Razoo Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 I'm using AutoCAD14 at home (yes, I know - but I like this version :-) I have just drawn a fairly complicated logo (crest) to use within a drawing sheet title block. The logo was outlined using splines, circles and arcs and then some areas were filled in using different coloured solid hatch. The logo is a block that is nested within my drawing sheet block. I have a Lisp routine that updates the drawing sheet with the new logo when an older style drawing sheet (with a different logo) is opened. Generally everything works just fine and the new logo displays and prints perfectly. However, occasionally when I open a drawing and allow it to update the logo, some (not all) of the logo solid hatch is missing. If I then print the drawing sheet, the solid hatch is still missing on the hard copy. If I regenerate the drawing using 'regenall', the logo remains unchanged and the logo solid hatch is still missing as before. Only two actions seem to correct the logo missing solid hatch: 1. Zoom in close so the logo is full-screen and regenerate the drawing - then the logo appears with all the solid hatch present and remains so if I zoom back out. 2. Go into Tools/Options (Preferences)/Performance and set 'Arc and circle smoothness' to a higher figure (e.g. 4000). Clicking on 'Apply' causes the logo to regenerate correctly and for all the solid hatch to be present. My default 'Arc and circle smoothness' setting is 1000. Increasing this figure to 2000 sometimes causes an incomplete logo to show correctly, but not always. Increasing the figure to 4000 has (so far) always caused an incomplete logo to show correctly. Is this a Viewres problem? Any suggestions (apart from upgrade to a newer version of AutoCAD)? TIA -- Razoo Quote
dalebeer Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I have the exact same problem with ACAD 2004, 2005 and 2008 versions where if I zoom in and run the lisp routine the solid displays correctly, and if I zoom out it shows up as a line segment and doesn't display correctly even if I zoom back in on the line segment. Did you ever find a resolution to this issue? Quote
Razoo Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 I have the exact same problem with ACAD 2004, 2005 and 2008 versions where if I zoom in and run the lisp routine the solid displays correctly, and if I zoom out it shows up as a line segment and doesn't display correctly even if I zoom back in on the line segment. Did you ever find a resolution to this issue? No, not really. I'm still using the two workarounds I mentioned: 1. Zoom in close so the hatched logo is full-screen and regenerate the drawing. 2. Go into Tools/Options (Preferences)/Performance and set 'Arc and circle smoothness' to a higher figure (e.g. 4000 or 5000). Regards, Razoo Quote
