Trisha Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I have converted a general arrangement drawing from pdf to dwg. Now I have to split the drawing into layers, with numbers for each deck etc, with correct line-type, -weight and colors. Is there any good instruction/manual how to do this? Or is there anyone here that has experience with general arrangement and could give me som basic tips? Quote
ReMark Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 How do you define "general arrangement"? What type of drawing is this? Quote
Trisha Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 General arrangement is the main drawing of a vessel. For example; http://images.google.no/images?sourceid=navclient&rlz=1T4ADFA_enNO341NO341&q=general+arrangement&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=PLMTS67VLM7u-Qaop4z2Dg&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CBUQsAQwAA Quote
Coosbaylumber Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Usually via the PDF conversion process it will place everything on to one layer, but separate out certain lines via color. I think now you are going to have to bite the bullet, and do the shifting of linework to another layer one by one. To save a few seconds, make all the lines colored "BY-Layer" and then turn the layer off. Once a particular line is told to go to a certain layer, it will then disappear, and you can then pick out another one. Takes forever, but is very efficient. You can also erase any garbage lines en route to final. Or, if good enough for others, simply stop working, transfer it to them, and then go on to another project. Wm. Quote
