mrjb3 Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Hi. I was hoping to find some pre-drawn 2D plans of lifts/staircases, toilets etc. Is there anywhere that you guys use on a regular basis? I don't want pay sites, and I don't need 3D drawings, just 2D. Trying to cut some corners as I'm running out of time! If you can point me in the right direction or upload some drawing files you have I'd really appreciate it! Matt Quote
mrjb3 Posted December 1, 2009 Author Posted December 1, 2009 Also... I looked in the downloads section, and have tried Google-ing it but I cant seem to find any decent websites. Thanks! Quote
ReMark Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Some 2D blocks may be found right on your hard drive. Look under Program Files > AutoCAD 2010 > Sample. Look in the DesignCenter and Dynamic Blocks folders. There are tons of 2D blocks for AutoCAD scattered all over the Internet. Some of the best sources are the websites of manufacturers themselves. ReMark Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I usually wait until a newbie has 10 posts before I share the good stuff with them. I'll make an exception in your case. Try this site: http://www.draftsperson.net/index.php?title=Draftsperson.net:Free_AutoCAD_Blocks Quote

ReMark Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 It is possible to find these links all on your own by being specific with your search inquires. Most people input the minimum information and get overwhelmed by the 1,235,488 hits they get. If you're getting that many hits then your search criteria is too vague. Quote
spikes2020 Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 until they invent an object defined search engine instead of word search engine... Has anyone made free dynamic blocks yet, i think they were released in 2009 and you can do all kinds of stuff with them. This includes menus and notes and also you can hide parts of the block if not used... Quote
ReMark Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Free Dynamic Blocks are a little harder to come by but I have seen a few. Does Elec 2010 have a Sample folder? If so you may find some Dynamic Blocks already included. Quote
ReMark Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Another source for free 2D and some 3D blocks: http://www.cadforum.cz/catalog_en/?cat=4 Quote
mrjb3 Posted December 2, 2009 Author Posted December 2, 2009 Well that certainly does help an awful lot! Perhaps I'll make my deadline yet... Thanks very much! Quote
