Another Linetype query

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I have lines on my drawing all set to the same linetype (phantom), yet some show as continuous and some as phantom (Both in PS and MS)

Ive set ltscale, msltscale and psltscale to 1.

Im plotting from MS.

Any idea why they are showing as continuous, and plotting as continuous?

Have you checked the ltscale of the objects themselves? (properties)

I had not. But it is set to 1

From Help

MSLTSCALE

Scales linetypes displayed on the model tab by the annotation scale

PSLTSCALE

1

Viewport scaling governs linetype scaling. If TILEMODE is set to 0, dash lengths are based on paper space drawing units, even for objects in model space. In this mode, viewports can have varying magnifications, yet display linetypes identically. For a specific linetype, the dash lengths of a line in a viewport are the same as the dash lengths of a line in paper space. You can still control the dash lengths with LTSCALE

When set to 1, mspace linetypes are displayed per the annotation scale (cannoscale). PS viewports are displayed as per the scale of the viewport. Be sure they are set to how you want them displayed.

Note: PSLTSCALE must be set (edited) for each layout tab; it is not a global variable.

I wonder if this is related to your "Duplicate Lines" thread. If you have multiple lines on top of one another, they may well appear continuous no matter what their linetype or scale.

Bonehead - No this is a different drawing and the troublesome lines were only drawn earlier today. Thanks though

ipseifert - All other lines on the drawing are fine, and the ... Ok I just took a look at something ...

As CarlB suggested, I checked the Properties of the new lines I had drawn and their Linetype scales were all set to 1, which I thought was correct.

But I never thought to compare it to the existing lines Linetype scale. Ive just done so and their LTSCALE is 1500.

Problem solved.

Sorry CarlB I shouldve looked properly.

Thanks all
