tzframpton Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Is there a way to set a width for an Attribute Definition, so when you edit the text it will dynamically adjust the text width to "squeeze" in the designated area?? I'm having a hard time explaining exactly how to say it. I just have a block that is 24" diameter and most of the time a two character text will be inside of the block diameter. Well, from time to time it might need to be three or four characters long, but I don't want it to bleed beyond the edges of the block. Make sense? Hopefully, lol. Thanks in advance everyone.... Quote
Jacko93 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I understand exactly what you mean, but have no idea how to solve it. Sorry. Quote

Thanks in advance everyone....yes, there is, I have one in my title block. when you are creating an attribute, look to the left there is an option for "multiple lines", once that is clicked, over to the right it lets you specify the width, either by entering the value or there is a button to set the distance by clicking. The only drawback to this, is when you go to edit the attribute. Once you invoke the enhanced attribute editor, to the right of the value window is a button with "...", you have to click that, and it basically sends you into mtext edit for the attribute. Quote
lpseifert Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Probably not the best way... When you create you attributes (attdef) use Fit as the justification. Align justification works also, but it mucks with the text height The multiline will create multiple lines of text if it goes beyond the designated width, if you can live with that. Quote
