clemson77on Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 I'm just another AutoCAD user trying to wrap my mind around Inventor LT. I've been working on learning the basics and so far am really impressed with Inventor LT. There is one hangup I just can't seem to get past. I want to sweep a profile. I start off by drawing a profile on the XY plane. I then finish that sketch and start another sketch on the YZ plane which will be my path. Here is where my problem starts. I want to start the line at the top corner of my profile. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any way to do that. Can somebody point me in the right direction on this? reference attached image Sweep_Profile_Problem.pdf Quote
JD Mather Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 You must Project Geometry to project that corner into your next sketch. http://home.pct.edu/~jmather/AU2006/MA13-3%20Mather.pdf http://home.pct.edu/~jmather/AU2007/MA105-1L%20Mather.pdf Slight, but important differences between these two papers. Pablo Ferral Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 You will need to use the 'Project Geometry' tool to project a point through from the first sketch to the second sketch. Then you can constrain the start point of your profile path to the projected point. (It's a lot easier to do than to type!) Quote
