anht0119 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Hello, I`m new in here so this is my first time posting. I`m currently building a pressure vessel using Solidworks 2009 eductaional edition. The vessel with be a thin cylinder of stainless steel with carbon fibfer wrap around it. it will have a single piston inside it. We're going to cap off the ends using 2 square caps with 4 long bolts, one at each corner. I~m in the process of creating an explosive view with animation. I want to make it realistic as possible, so I want to to make the bolts and screws turn during the explode/collapse views. Can anyone help me out with this? I'd really appreciate it. Also, I know solidoworks have great simulation, does anyone know how to simulate a composite pressure vessel assembly under 500 psi pressure? Quote
shift1313 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Welcome aboard. Your in luck because with SW09 they added FEA of sandwich composites. Have you run any simulations before? (Tools>Simulation Express). For your exploded view animation: I uploaded an image showing you where to create the Exploded view. The assembly tab has an exploded view and exploded line sketch. When you create an exploded view you will have to click on the Configurations tab to make it visible or hide it. Ive also added a .zip file of an animation. This animation was very basic(for size limitations). I dont know if you can do a render of this animation or not because ive never tried. I know you can combine an exploded view with a motion study. Hopefully that gives you something to go on. NetworkBoxExplode.zip Quote
