paul1966 Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 i'm having problems when drawing lines with the osnap set to nearest and ortho on drawing a line between two parallel lines the line is nearly always not straight, usually if i take the end of the line past the line i want to connect to then drag the end grip and drag it back it will snap and will be straight. it quite annoying. any idea's as to the problem? What other snaps do you have on? if you want it midway between 2 lines just use the mdpt snap to perp. or offset the line the distance between the two. maybe i'm not understanding ur problem? Quote
paul1966 Posted December 9, 2009 Author Posted December 9, 2009 the other snaps i have on are endpoint and mid, i have tried just having the nearest on but still get the problem. the problem i have is say i have two parallel lines and i want to draw lines between them like the rungs on a ladder, the lines are hardly ever exactly straight. paul1966 Posted December 9, 2009 Author Posted December 9, 2009 thats solved the problem, looks like i was using nearest instead of perp. thanks for the help. Quote

Strix Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 usually if i take the end of the line past the line i want to connect to then drag the end grip and drag it back it will snap and will be straight. That is an awful faff when you could just draw the line where it's supposed to be in the first place using the perpendicular snap as suggested above, but for future reference, if you have a line overshooting another and want to shorten it, either use TRIM, or grips and the INTERSECTION snap!
