sarat Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Hello. I am using a "drafting hatch pattern" in Revit and need to rotate the pattern so the wood grain runs vertical. (Revit in all its wonders can't rotate a 2D hatch pattern) So i think I am forced to rewrite the .pat file. OR find two similar patterns, rotated 90 degrees from one another. I have tried adding 90 degrees to the angle of each line command in the .pat file with zero success. And have not found any vertical grain wood patterns. [sigh] Help please!!!! I've attached the pattern I downloaded for free somewhere that I'd like to rotate.... Any input appreciated. Thank you!!! Wood Grain.txt Quote
hugha Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 You can rotate MODEL patterns within Revit but not DRAFTING patterns. If you are trying to align the plywood pattern to your building elements you may get better results by converting the pattern to load as a MODEL pattern and rotating the pattern as needed. In case you know this and it's a DRAFTING pattern you really need, I've attached that pattern rotated 90 degrees with HatchKit and saved as a Revit Inch Drafting pattern. hth, Hugh Adamson Cadro Pty. naddlles Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Hugh, I have a model pattern I brought in from cad and also need to rotate it. i've tried this in revit, and although it works with the Align tool, I cannot seem to rotate the pattern. How can I do this? You can rotate MODEL patterns within Revit but not DRAFTING patterns.
