cadam Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 My A3 plotting is done on a HP Deskjet 1220C (colour) printer and 90% of my plots are in black only, but I think my printer is creating black using the colour cartridge. I use far more colour cartridges than black ones! Any plot settings that I should be selecting? Quote

gcp310 Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 but I think my printer is creating black using the colour cartridge How is this possible?? I have a 1120c. i feel for you. the cartridges are expensive. You should look into refilling, may be a cheaper option. As far as your printer goes, have you tried changing the printer defaults to print black only. Maybe worth a look. i cant remember if theres a setting, but most plotter/printers these days have them. Good luck. G Quote
AMANDALEE Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Hi.....using an HP 9300 here and i noticed the same thing, it could be the printer warming up and doing a quick nozzle purge. That will obviously use a very small amount, though. We tried generic or refilled cartridges, not very good in my opinion ,often it wouldnt recognize it so we went back to branded. Amanda............
